Welcome to the start of the SKL Smash Circuit!
Back in October, we held the first SKL Smashfest in Regina, and it was an automatic success. Building off of this, SKL is pleased to announce that we will be holding a full SKL Smash Circuit for Super Smash Brothers Wii U (SSB4) starting with Smashkatoon 23!
Here’s how it will work:
Events will be divided into “S” tier and “A” tier. Each SKL Smashfest is treated as an “S” tier event, and these will be held every three to four months. “A” tier events will be held once a month in both Regina and Saskatoon. Both “S” tier and “A” tier events will provide points that will be tracked and used for seeding in future Smashfests.
Here is the point structure breakdown:
|Placing||"S" Tier||"A" Tier|
Based off of that point structure, here are the current standings:
The first “A” tier event to provide SKL Circuit Points will be Smashkatoon 23 on November 11th at the Sandman Hotel in Saskatoon. Players will play SSB4 to collect points for the circuit, but the event will also have tournaments for Project M and Super Smash Brothers Melee (SSBM). The winner of the SSB4 tournament will receive free entry into the next SKL Smashfest, happening in Saskatoon in January. The first Regina “A” tier event will be announced shortly, as we finalize details with our Regina tournament organizers.
We have some awesome announcements regarding future Smashfest events coming very soon, so stay tuned. From all of us at SKL, let me be the first to say:
