SKL eSports is partnering with IKS Live to put on a Super Smash Bros. event the likes hasn’t been seen in Saskatchewan! Watch a live eSports event on a massive screen, in a theater setting. See the players up close, feel the energy. You’ve never experienced gaming this way before.
The event will consist of two major tournaments on the main stage, and a legacy room of casual tournaments for the not so smash inclined! This is SKL’s first console only event as we normally focus on PC eSports.
Main Stage Tournament
The title events are a singles Super Smash Brothers Wii U tournament, and a doubles Super Smash Brothers Wii U tournament.
The Singles Tournament will be an eight pool double elimination tournament. The top three from each pool will then fight it out in a double elimination bracket for the top prize! Each match will use a best of three ruling, with the final eight games using a best of five ruling.
The Doubles Tournament will be a single double elimination tournament bracket. Each match will use a best of three ruling, with the final eight games using a best of five ruling.
The rule set and format are pulled straight from the Regina Smash community to insure the most competitive and fair tournament possible. Read up on the complete rule set HERE.

In the Legacy Room separate from the main stage, there is a concession, wet bar, and old school video games! We are talking Goldeneye 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros 64, Super Nintendo games, and more! SKL Refs will be putting on mini-fun tournaments for some of the legacy games, so if you want to get your Mario Kart on in a casual and fun environment, this is the place! Your gate fee gains you access to the legacy room and free entrance into all the mini-fun tournaments!
Eat drink, and hang out with friends playing old school games. What more could you ask for on a Sunday?
